Monitor
a device that displays signals on a computer screen
Keyboard
a data input device for computers
Mouse
a hand-operated electronic device that controls the coordinates of a cursor on your computer screen as you move it around on a pad
System Unit
the main part of a personal computer. The system unit includes the chassis, microprocessor, main memory, bus, and ports, but does not include the keyboard or monitor, or any peripheral devices.
COMPONENTS OF A SYSTEM UNIT
Motherboard
a printed circuit board containing the principal components of a computer or other device, with connectors into which other circuit boards can be slotted
RAM (Random Access Memory)
allows data items to be read and written in roughly the same amount of time regardless of the order in which data items are accessed
PSU (Power Supply Unit)
converts mains AC to low-voltage regulated DC power for the internal components of a computer.
Hard Disk
a data storage device used for storing and retrieving digital information using rapidly rotating disks (platters) coated with magnetic material
CPU (Central Processing Unit)
the hardware within a computer that carries out the instructions of a computer program by performing the basic arithmetical, logical, and input/output operations of the system
